2012 Kansas City Burlesque Festival Queen,
2012 Shimmy Showdown Champion,
Choreographer of The Hoochie Coochie Girls,
Foxy La Feelion has been in the burlesque scene for almost 7 years now. But her passion for entertaining started 15 years ago. As a child, she would spend time in front of the television learning dances from her favorite videos. Her mother knew she had to get the young “Fox” into dance class. So she enrolled her into a performing arts elementary and middle school. It was then when she fell in love with the art of dance.
Around the age of 12, Foxy was spotted by a representative from COCA (Center of Creative Arts), and was given a full dance scholarship and joined the pre-professional program. She danced 6-7 days a week and quickly sharpened her jazz, tap, ballet and modern dance skills. After a year or so she auditioned and became part of the Senior dance company. She was very fortunate to have worked with many major dance companies which included; Paul Taylor, Battleworks, River North, Twlya Tharp, Jason Samuels Smith, Doug Elkins and much more.
Foxy also became a Muny Teen for two years where she was in productions like Singing in the Rain and A Chorus Line. At the age of 16, she wanted to expand her dance repertoire, so she joined a hip-hop dance group. The group was known as Pure Entertainment Company and they traveled the midwest performing at various venues. It was around the same time when she was offered her first major teaching job for the St. Louis Black Rep. summer camp. Foxy worked at the camp until she was 18 and was then offered another job teaching a cardio strip tease class. It was all glitter and feathers from there on out!
After graduating high school and ending her time with COCA dance, while still teaching and substituting classes, she ventured out into the night scene. She was again spotted at a local bar free styling, and was asked to join the first burlesque group in St. Louis. Not knowing what she was getting into, she happily obliged! She became a member of the Alley Cat Revue at the age of 19 and performed a weekly show at Rue 13.
She strutted her stuff around St. Louis with the Alley Cats for about 4 ½ years. She is a solo performer now, but still works with many of the fantastic former members such as Lola Van Ella, Greta Garter, Mimi Le Yu, and Gogo McGregor. She recently was part of the Show Me Burlesque tour along with the wonderful Gravity Plays Favorites. They all left of trail of St. Louis awesomeness throughout the midwest!
Foxy is really passionate about burlesque and hopes to continue teasing her audience until the tassels will no longer twirl! She can be seen all over St. Louis popping balloons, nibbling on gloves, smiling and winking! This sassy seamed lady, is not one to miss!
